Dr. Mac received his undergraduate training at Boston University where he double majored in Biology and Economics. He did his medical training at Wake Forest University where he was one of only 2 students selected into the prestigious dual MD/MBA degree. Dr. Mac then completed his internship in Internal Medicine followed by 3 years of Ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville.

Upon completing residency, Dr. Mac founded Metrolina Eye Associates in 2004. He has medical appointments at CMC-Union, Anson Community Hospital, and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews. Dr. Mac is the author of numerous papers in the field of Ophthalmology and has lectured on the local and national level.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been named one of the nation’s top cataract and refractive surgeons according to the Consumers Research Council of America. Dr. Mac is adamant about his own personal fitness endeavors and considers wellness as a necessary part of life.
